Hi! My name is Brad Justus, and I’m the owner of riflescope-review.com.
I grew up in rural North Carolina and was introduced to hunting and fishing at a young age. Like most hunters, I started out hunting small game and got into deer and turkey hunting later in life. Even today, I patiently wait for hunting season so I can get out and do something I love!
My interest in rifle scopes goes way back to my early teens, as that’s when my vision began to change for the worse. As shooting with open rifle sights became more difficult due to my eyesight, one of my uncles bought me a fixed 4 power scope one Christmas. From that point on, I haven’t owned a rifle that wasn’t equipped with a scope or optic.
My interest in hunting and shooting eventually led me to a career in a field that I love. As such, I’ve spent the last 20+ years working in the sporting goods industry with an emphasis on firearms and firearms accessories. Of those 20+ plus years working in the gun industry, I’ve spent the last 8 focusing on optics and rifle scopes.
For the most part, I spend my days at work discussing optics, mounting optics, and demoing optics, so it made sense to create a blog about the topic of optics.
Another perk of working in the sporting optics industry is I sometimes get access to sales representatives and brand managers from several different scope brands, which can be extremely helpful for questions and overall educational purposes on specific scope brands.
Now, does this make me an “expert” on rifle scopes and sports optics? Not in my humble opinion, but I’ve got a wealth of experience regarding rifle scopes in various applications.
Outside of work, I’m a husband, father, avid hunter, shooter, and amateur long-range shooter.
I’ve spent the money on almost every rifle scope (and I mean, I’ve spent some major coin on scopes over the years) you see me review, so my goal is to provide you with the best information that I can, so you can make informed buying decisions.
